When you are looking to plan out your wedding reception, bear in mind that it takes a mixture of finding the right location and choosing the right services to make it a time to remember. While the possibilities are endless for your wedding reception, there are some tips you'll need to know to make it the best it can be. In this regard, follow these strategies and reach out to some companies that can look out for you.

Choose the best food and cake for your wedding reception

If people don't remember anything else about your wedding reception, they will definitely remember if the food was good or not. In this regard, go over the menu options in advance to be sure that you're choosing things the whole crowd will enjoy. While you're hunting down wedding venues and wedding caterers, take the time to actually taste the food so that you can vouch for it yourself. Make sure that you also choose a wedding cake that is delicious and impeccably decorated. When choosing a cake, start as early as possible and speak to the artist yourself to make sure it is decorated to your liking. A wedding cake can cost between about $300 and $700 in most cases, so plan it out in your budget.

Think about your entertainment and beverage options

You'll need to find a wedding band or DJ that keeps the party going. Make sure that they match the energy you are going for and that they are available for your wedding dates. During this time you'll also need to decide whether you're going to serve alcohol, and in what capacity. For instance, it might be worthwhile to have drinks during the cocktail hour while guests are waiting for the party to arrive. You may just choose to have champagne during the toast. If you're going to serve drinks during the entire reception, you will generally choose between a cash bar, open bar or consumption bar. Weigh the costs of these options and make sure to choose some signature cocktails that people will enjoy.

Find the best wedding reception location

Of course, the process isn't complete without choosing a great venue. Finding an excellent wedding venue allows everyone to let their hair down and truly enjoy themselves. Think about everything from the quality of the caterers to the beauty and color of the ambiance. Every decision matters, so speak to a few wedding reception venues until you find one that's a good fit. You'll want to book at least a year out, so have your choices together as early as possible. On average, people spend about $3,000 to rent a wedding venue.

Consider these tips when putting together your wedding reception.

About Me
Having Fun Planning Your Own Wedding

My name's Melissa. Welcome you to my website. I’m so excited to share about my wedding. My husband Jack and I got married five months ago. We planned our entire wedding by ourselves. It wasn’t that we didn’t have parents, family, or friends that wanted to help. In fact, they were all begging to help but we wanted to do this on our own. Before embarking on the wedding planning, we made one promise to each other. That promise was simply, "no stress." Sound impossible? We thought it might be because we had heard numerous times how stressful planning a wedding can be. We had a blast! If something started to get a bit touchy, we found a way to turn it around and make it a fun adventure. I’m going to tell you how we did it, and I hope you will be able to do the same. Enjoy!
